The Fire Hydrant Capital of the World

Albertville is the largest city in Marshall County, with 22,386 residents at the 2020 Census, and it sits up on Sand Mountain. Mueller moved its fire hydrant plant here in 1975, which is how the city came to call itself the Fire Hydrant Capital of the World.^[1,2]

The state chose Albertville for north Alabama’s first commercial poultry processing plant, and manufacturing is still the largest source of jobs in town. Snead State’s Aviation College is here too.^[3]
